day 39
Had the best sleep, but also crazy dreams about there being a higher purpose for this madness and no one believed me… hmm
Made Lydia come and do the recycling with me. I am the queen of the bins in this house. Did some yoga when I got home, tried to call CRA to change my address and there was an hour ‘n half wait
Thought about starting to sew things together, but then I thought I better wait for Gracie as I haven’t used a sewing machine since year 9 textiles
Isaac’s is fitting all the cabinets and putting the table tops on today, it’s looking fresh. Fiona and Joe popped over, was a nice surprise. Forgot that I was still on hold to CRA after an hour and bloody missed it.
Gracie arrived and I presented the days brief (resizing the mattress cover, covering the weird rectangular foam, and making the curtains that I cut out yesterday)
Thank god she was here, this was the only proper job I’ve had to do in a while, but it would’ve taken me 50 million years to hand sew it all. I can’t believe how quickly she whipped things together, I am so impressed. You can’t even tell the mattress was ever a different size and the weird rectangular foam pieces are now very neat, rectangular pillows. Still a bit weird though
Chlo and Chauncey came to drop off some more material. Suddenly there were quite a lot of people on the drive, I felt a bit stressed. It was also quite noisy, felt bad for the girls too. I took over their space for most of the day and that’s not fair
Gracie taught me how to use the machine before she left so I could do the curtains. I imagined myself whizzing through it like she did, we’d have curtains in no time. Sadly, there was a reason I did art and not textiles for GCSE. Sewing machines are stressful, scary and frustrating. I didn’t get very far with making the curtains
why the hec is it so frickin hard to sew in a straight line?????
Made the last Hello Fresh thing for dinner. This one used an unholy amount pots ‘n pans. Again, nice to eat something that I wouldn't normally cook, but one pot cooking is definitely where it’s at, still
